| My Original Work |
|---|
| I have several original pieces of fiction, all
written months ago. But despite this, I do believe them to be the
better prozes. In fact, the one piece I wrote that has remained my own
favorite for many months now, is among the 'genuine fiction'. Sarge - WWII Sarge was my very first venture into original fiction. It was originally intended to be a one shot deal, meaning no further chapters would be written for it. The title was chosen because the story was supposed to be about a sergeant who was revered by his troops. However, I was unable to let go of the story after finishing this first chapter, and so Sarge continued, and lost touch with that set it off in the first place. Hence why I decided to not continue under this name. the original sarge can be found here. Western Front - WWII As said, Sarge continued. I decided to stop updating it, and instead rework it into a different story that, as the name suggests, plays on the western front. This story is peculiar, as I could never really decide which way to go with it. Originally it would be about paratroopers, yet that idea was dropped - though not after the first two chapters had been written. In the most recent version it follows a soldier in the US 2nd infantry division. However, the story never really got going, and I regret it, since it has potential. However, if interested, the different openings can be read here and here. Unfortunately, openings is all they stayed. I might get back to them later. A Sniper's Last Stand - WWII This one shot turned out to be the work I am most proud of. The story itself is about a sniper, Jack Graham, who finds himself in the Ardennes in the winter of 1944, where he gets lost in memories about his wartime past. It was inspired by a lot of things, and I enjoyed writing it very much. the story can be found here (recommended). |

| My Fan Fiction |
|---|
| The thing that started my whole writing hobby
was, of course, fan fiction. Who hasn't had them? That idea you get
after you've watched a particular show on TV? The infamous 'What
if...?' lived strongly in me, and sparked a whole set of ideas that
ultimately led to me giving a try at writing proze. Sure, it started
innocent enough, and I wrote for fun, but now I write fan fiction for
the sole purpose of improving my skills. One day, I hope to be able to
publish my own book, with a world I created myself, rather than
'borrowed' from someone else. One mild warning I need to give everyone: all my fanfics follow the same trend; they start out horribly, only to improve and pick up the pace in later chapters. Even my very latest work still follows this 'tradition', like some curse I can't rid myself of. They do, however, improve drastically after the first chapter. You have been warned. Fight for Freedom - Pokémon The very first attempt at proze I ever made. The first three chapters are downright terrible, but it improves as the story goes on, and I do think the very last chapter is fairly close to my current level. The story is still going, and I do want to finish this, badly. So it will be getting attention. fight for freedom can be read here. A Legend Lived On - Dragonball Z My second attempt, in which I at first tried a different style of writing. Namely present tense. I quickly found that this style does not suit me at all, and I abandoned it after the first four or five chapters. Obviously, the quality of the story increased dramatically after I did so. I'm currently in the process of redoing the first few chapters and getting everything up to what I feel is an acceptable level. Frankly though, I doubt I will continue afterwards. The story has lost my interest, especially after I started planning a new DBZ one where I might even just engulf this in. allo can be read here. Insert [name] - Pokémon Yes, the brackets are in fact part of the name. People always think self insertions are bad, but if written properly they can actually turn out to be alright. While at first I was going to write Insert as a parody on self insertions, I quickly changed course and developed it into a full blown story. Basically, I inserted myself in the Pokéworld with my Fire Red line-up. So far, I'm quite happy with how it's turning out. So happy in fact, that I'm planning something similar for a DBZ story. insert can be read here (recommended). |

| Guy's Favorite Books/Stories |
|---|
| My favorite type of book would be realistic,
meaning that whatever is in the book could quite possibly happen in
real life. I also like books that deal with war. Especially the kind
that were written by a soldier who actually served in that war. Not surprisingly, despite having read only two Tom Clancy books, I'm already hooked, and in search of more. I'm hoping to get my hands on Hunt for the Red October soon. In the mean time, I have to do with The Teeth of the Tiger and Rainbow Six. Yes, that would be the book that spawned the game series. It rocks. Read it. No kidding. Two other books that really sucked me up were A Screaming Eagle at Normandy by Donald R. Burgett and its sequal Seven Roads to Hell, about D-Day and the Battle of Bastogne respectively. They are first hand accounts from a guy who was there and did all that, and the way he describes things is amazing. A definite must-read for anyone who is interested in the Second World War, and the role of the 101st Airborne. Of course, there are those books that aren't really all that action-packed, but still manage to grab you and not let you go. I had this experience with two books so far; Codex, by Lev Grossman, and Lost City, by Clive Cussler. I still need to see if I can get another one of his books somewhere. Though this book was actually rather farfetched, he still managed to write it down in a way that made me go 'this can't actually happen... right?' If I come across any other books that leave me in complete awe, I'll be sure to let you know. |

| Guy's Favorite Fanwork |
|---|
| Of course, while I have my favorite authors when
it comes to actual novels, I also have some fan ficcing favorites that
definitely deserve mentioning. Yes folks, it's plugging time. The number one fanfic series that I just can't not mention, is Dave Thomas's Dragonball Z self insert (see? it can be done!), Dragonball Verto. This isn't even one story, no, this is an ongoing series of stories, each a sequel to the last. This series is so awesome, it is a shame it can't be printed for obvious reasons. Dave has an FF.net account under the name Verto-Briefs, the name of his self-based character. it can be visited here, and I seriously recommend it to anyone interested in DBZ. Another DBZ story, DragonTek: The Future of the Saiyajin by 'Nadz', also on FF.net, was also very nicely written. Basically, this story is a cross-over of DBZ and Tekkaman (Technoman in some countries). While most cross-overs have me gagging, this one was most definitely worth the time reading those 75 chapters. you can find it here. Of course, it would be rude of me not to include a Pokémon story, seeing as that is the category I started out in. Now normally I'm not the mushy type, and I can hardly be called romantic, but Cavern of a Million Colors drew me in and didn't let me go. It has a healthy balance between romance, drama and action, and has good length to boast. It was definitely worth my time, and that's saying something considering it is a romance fic. the story can be found here. Again, if I find any others that I seriously think you should read, I will keep you informed. |
